Nagasaki Day is observed on 9 August. On this day US dropped an atomic bomb on the Nagasaki city of Japan in 1945 during World War II.    The first bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima and the second was dropped on Nagasaki on 9 August which killed around 74,000 people or more. Bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki was known as “Fat Man” .  Plutonium bomb exploded over Nagasaki just two days later on 9 August levelled 6.7 km square of the city and killed around 74,000 people by the end of 1945. The temperature of the ground reached 4,000 degrees Celsius and radioactive rain poured down. On 15 August 1945, the Japanese Emperor announced the surrender and ‘Victory in Japan’ or ‘V-J Day’ celebrations broke out across the United States and other Allied nations.

  It is a global campaign that is celebrated every year during the first week of August in several countries across the world.  World Breastfeeding Week first time was celebrated in 1992.                                              Theme of  2022 = " Step Up for Breastfeeding: Educate and Support" Theme  of  2021 = "Protect breastfeeding: a shared responsibility."  Every year on 1st August National Mountain Climbing Day is observed.  It is said that the day was established in honour of the author's son, Bobby Mathews, and his friend Josh Madigan, for successfully climbing the 46 High Peaks of New York State's Adirondack Mountains. National Mountain Climbing Day promotes mountain climbing and celebrates the fact that it helps in maintaining good physical health.  Mountain climbing is an adventurous hobby for many people and has its challenges.  In 1965, Avatar Singh Cheema became the first Indian to climb Mount Everest.  Before Avatar Singh, fifteen foreigners had already climbed the highest peak of Mount Everest.  The first Indian woman to climb Everest was Bachendri Pal who did so in 1984, at the age of 30.

 World Hepatitis Day is observed annually on 28 July.  THEME OF 2021 - " HEPATITIS CAN'T WAIT " THEME OF 2022 - "BRINGING HEPATITIS CARE CLOSER TO YOU" This day make people aware of the hepatitis disease and its consequences in the life of the people suffering from it. The most common deaths are caused by together hepatitis B and C.  According to WHO-  1,100,000 deaths per year are caused by Hepatitis B and C infections - 9,400,000 people are receiving treatment for chronic hepatitis C virus infection. The World Nature Conservation Day is observed annually on  July 28 .  The occasion aims to create awareness about the need to preserve the environment and natural resources in order to keep the world healthy. Saving plants and animals that are threatened with extinction is one of the primary focuses of the World Nature Conservation Day. THEME OF 2021 - " Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Plane t"                        The celebration emphasizes on  keeping the various components of nature such as flora, fauna, energy resources, soil, water, and air intact.  As M.K. Gandhi says - "  EARTH PROVIDES ENOUGH TO SATISFY EVERY MAN'S  NEEDS, BUT NOT EVERY MAN'S GREED."

  Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on 26 July to commemorate the victory of the Indian soldiers over the infiltrating Pakistani troops. This year is the 23rd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Kargil War, also known as the Kargil conflict, was fought between May-July of 1999 in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC) in which India got the victory. Therefore, the day is dedicated to the martyred soldiers of the Kargil war. On 3rd May 1999 Pakistan started this war when it had infiltrated into the high altitudes in the rocky mountainous region of Kargil with around 5000 soldiers and captured it.  When the Indian Government got the information about it ‘ Operation Vijay ’ was launched by the Indian army to throw back the intruders who had treacherously occupied Indian Territory.

World Day For International Justice is observed every year on 17 july. It is also known as the Day of International Criminal Justice or International Justice Day.  This day recognise the emerging system of international criminal justice.   July 17th 2002 - was the date of the adoption of the treaty that created the International Criminal Court.  In June 2010, at the Review Conference of the Rome Statute, the Assembly of State Parties decided to celebrate July 17th as the Day of International Criminal Justice.

 12 July-  Malala Day is celebrated every year  to celebrate the birthday of activist Malala Yousafzai.  Malala Day was designated by the United Nations to honor the young woman who has been advocating for women's education for years.  Malala Yousafzai, often referred to mononymously as Malala, is a Pakistani activist for female education and the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.  Born :  12 July 1997  She was 17, when she was awarded the Nobel Prize . She is the world's youngest Nobel Prize laureate, and the second Pakistani and the first Pashtun to ever receive a Nobel Prize.
