26th July- KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

  •  Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on 26 July to commemorate the victory of the Indian soldiers over the infiltrating Pakistani troops. This year is the 23rd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.


  • Kargil War, also known as the Kargil conflict, was fought between May-July of 1999 in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC) in which India got the victory. Therefore, the day is dedicated to the martyred soldiers of the Kargil war.

  • On 3rd May 1999 Pakistan started this war when it had infiltrated into the high altitudes in the rocky mountainous region of Kargil with around 5000 soldiers and captured it. 

  • When the Indian Government got the information about it ‘Operation Vijay’ was launched by the Indian army to throw back the intruders who had treacherously occupied Indian Territory.

16th JULY- WORLD SNAKE DAY

  World Snake Day on July 16th urges increased awareness of the wide variety of 3,500 species around the world.  Among the 3,500 species, only about 600 are venomous.   According to the World Health Organization, only about 200 of those pose a significant risk to human life. The world’s smallest snake is the Barbados thread snake. This serpent is smaller than a nightcrawler at about 4 inches.   The longest snake is the reticulated python, and the heaviest is the green anaconda. Reticulated python Green Anaconda 

25th JULY- WORLD EMBRYOLOGIST DAY

 On 25 July 1978 , Louise Joy Brown became the first baby to be conceived through IVF (In vitro fertilization ) and hence  the day is  celebrated as World Embryologists Day every year. Embryologists play an important role in an IVF clinic. They help in making babies happen or we can say that creating life in their hand. Embryologists are those who study sperm, eggs, and embroys. They will be able to determine which sperm , eggs and embroys are the healthiest and can be selected for IVF treatment.  Sometimes they are also reffered to as 'caretakers' of patients' sperm, eggs, or embryos because they are the nurturers of this new start of life
