18th July- MANDELA DAY

It is easy to
  break down and destroy.
 The heroes are those
    who make peace and build.
                                   


  •  On 18 July every year, we celebrate Nelson Mandela International Day by making a difference in our communities.

  • The first UN Mandela Day was held on July 18, 2010.


  •  Everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better! Mandela Day is an occasion for all to take action and inspire change.

  • Nelson Mandela devoted his life to the service of humanity — as a human rights lawyer, a prisoner of conscience, an international peacemaker and the first democratically elected president of a free South Africa.

  • November 2009 - in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom, UN General Assembly declares 18 July "Nelson Mandela International Day.

  • Resolution  recognizes Mandela’s values and his dedication to the service of humanity in: conflict resolution; race relations; promotion and protection of human rights; reconciliation; gender equality and the rights of children and other vulnerable groups; the fight against poverty; the promotion of social justice. 

  • The resolution acknowledges his contribution to the struggle for democracy internationally and the promotion of a culture of peace throughout the world.
TAKE ACTION INSPIRE CHANGE , MAKE EVERY DAY A MANDELA DAY.

 World Hepatitis Day is observed annually on 28 July.  THEME OF 2021 - " HEPATITIS CAN'T WAIT " THEME OF 2022 - "BRINGING HEPATITIS CARE CLOSER TO YOU" This day make people aware of the hepatitis disease and its consequences in the life of the people suffering from it. It is celebrated to raise awareness about viral hepatitis which is an inflammation of the liver that causes various problems like liver cancer. Hepatitis virus has 5 main strains namely A, B, C, D, and E. The most common deaths are caused by together hepatitis B and C.  According to WHO-  1,100,000 deaths per year are caused by Hepatitis B and C infections - 9,400,000 people are receiving treatment for chronic hepatitis C virus infection. On World Hepatitis Day 2022, WHO is highlighting the need for   bringing hepatitis care closer to the primary health facilities and communities  so that people have better access to treatment and care, no matter what type of hepatitis they may have. 25th JULY- WORLD EMBRYOLOGIST DAY

 On 25 July 1978 , Louise Joy Brown became the first baby to be conceived through IVF (In vitro fertilization ) and hence  the day is  celebrated as World Embryologists Day every year. Embryologists play an important role in an IVF clinic. They help in making babies happen or we can say that creating life in their hand. Embryologists are those who study sperm, eggs, and embroys. They will be able to determine which sperm , eggs and embroys are the healthiest and can be selected for IVF treatment.  Sometimes they are also reffered to as 'caretakers' of patients' sperm, eggs, or embryos because they are the nurturers of this new start of life
